Two suggestions: please create a Dark theme for the app it'll make the whole experience intuitive and attractive too. also, By all means, create a Streak View window where users can visually see their saving streak, be able to share their wins with others too. The occasional text reminder is good. But the visual representation could take savings up.

You can't just block someone's money for a year without access.
